This photo is an installation shot from an exhibition at Palos Verdes Art Center. These twin staircase-like forms came out of an obsession with a metaphor– the concept of the staircase as a means of escape and as a dream form representing movement from one kind of state to another. I was also thinking of the way geological elements get moved and shifted over time, making certain features taller or smaller, in a way making them portable.
